FAQ
Permission for Part Time Work means that international students who got this permission can do some part time jobs legally outside of their studies. This allows students to work in South Korea legally without changing their student visas to the ones that are allowed for working.
You will need your passport, alien registration card (Residence Card), employment contract, and a letter of recommendation from your school. In addition, because some jobs may require additional documents, please check the platform for the exact list of required documents
After submitting all the documents, it usually takes 3~4 weeks. However, this period might be reduced through using the platform.
Working illegally without the permission can result in penalties such as fines, cancellation of your VISA status, forced departure and others. Therefore, it is important to apply for a work permit to avoid working illegally and to make sure that you have the permission before you start working.
Even prospective international students without a passport or alien registration card can sign up. You can also find the job you want before you come to study.
When writing an employment contract, it's important to make sure that the terms of employment are clearly stated and international students are guaranteed to work within the legally permitted hours. Double check every part of the contract carefully before signing.
To be eligible for a work permission, you must have a valid student visa (D-2, etc.) and your school grades must be at a certain level. You will also need a letter of recommendation from your school.
